No Porsches in Forza 4
Bad news for racing fans this week as Electronic Arts refuses to share the Porsche license with Turn 10's upcoming game, Forza Motorsports 4. Community manager Brian Ekberg posted on the officiall Forza website that "EA couldn't see their way towards collaborating again." EA, who currently holds the Porsche license, has a number of Need for Speed titles set to release this year with heavy emphasis on the Porsche brand. Turn 10 will continue to reach out to EA for future sublicensing opportunities.
No Nazis Allowed
Apple has pulled Wolfenstein 3D from the iOS App Store in Switzerland and Austria because of offensive imagery, aka, swastikas. Encase you didn't know, Wolfenstein 3D was one of the first FPS games to hit the market in 1992. While the game in no way supports Nazi idealism, there are a good number of swastikas in the game. Unlike Captain America, the game isn't afraid to let you know who we were fighting in WWII. Hell, you even go up against Hitler in a robo-mech suit with rocket launchers. How bad-ass is that? If you ask me, Switzerland and Austria need to grow a pair and remind themselves it's okay to shoot a Nazi in the head, especially if they're wearing a giant mech suit.
PAX 2011 and Minecraft!
Penny Arcade kicks off PAX 2011 tomorrow where a handful of big publishers will show off what they've been working on, yatta yatta yatta. All I care about is the new Adventure Update for Minecraft. The update will be playable at the event for the first time and will feature a number of gameplay changes like gardening and boss battles. After judging the fans reactions, Notch will release the update to the millions of players who have purchased the beta version of the game.
I'll be back tomorrow with another Becky's Gamer Update. Hope to see you then!
